- The client’s server rack was unprotected leaving it vulnerable and a security risk.
- A proper access control solution was required.
- The server hardware required sufficient ventilation to prevent overheating.
- Visited the site to assess the server rack area and environment, discuss security needs with staff and management, and to collect precise measurements, ensuring the measured area did not block an adjacent doorway.
- Also ensured the measured area allowed sufficient space for employees to perform work inside the structure.
- Determined that a cage structure would provide sufficient ventilation for the temperature and humidity controls required by the server, while providing visual access for monitoring the servers.
- Designed and installed modular server cage using durable 2” x 1” woven wire mesh panels and door with secure key lock.
- The new server cage provided the required perimeter security.
- The mesh panels of the structure provided adequate air flow for keeping systems cool, while providing visual access, eliminating the need for cameras to monitor the servers.
- The modular design of the cage allowed for quick and easy reconfiguration and/or relocation should it be required.
- Work was performed on time and within budget.
